Our ORISM development team is based in Fukuoka Prefecture, the northernmost part of Kyushu.
Fukuoka Prefecture, known as the gateway to Kyushu and Asia, is home to a variety of cultures, history, and
It is a modern city that is steadily developing as an economic, cultural and tourist hub.
It was in this Fukuoka prefecture that ORISM was born.

An encounter with the traditional craft "Hakata-ori"

Have you heard of "Hakata-ori," a traditional textile that originated in Fukuoka Prefecture, where such diverse cultures intersect?

A beautiful craft that has been passed down for generations, Hakata-ori features distinctive patterns, exquisite craftsmanship and intricate designs in obi and kimono that are highly prized the world over for their quality and beauty.

We were enthralled by the beauty of the fabric, which is characterized by a pattern made up of warp and weft threads called "Kenjogara," and began our activities with a small idea in mind: "Is there somehow we can help spread this noble and beautiful item to the world?"

This is when the planning of various products that take advantage of the characteristics of local content begins.

The long road to commercialization

It was no easy task to interpret a traditional craft in a modern way and turn it into a product.

After many failures, and with the cooperation of various companies from different industries for color adjustments, sewing processing, etc., it took a year and a half to finally complete a prototype.

私たちには「HAKATA STRIPES ＋ ORISM」と名付けた特別なラインナップが存在します。
これは、手にした皆様にORISMが博多織とその代表的紋様である献上柄からインスピレーションを受けて誕生したブランドであること、そして歴史や伝統をただ古き良きものとして捉えるのではなく、そこから未来に繋がる新たな価値を創造することを目的とした私たちの理念、即ち原点を感じていただきたくプロデュースされた製品であることを示しています。

15世紀までに遡るそのDNA、博多を代表する伝統工芸品、「博多織」。

その博多織を代表する文様「献上柄」

私たちORISMは、この正確で潔い直線の連続＝STRIPESを、世代、そして世界を越える「至高、でも実は、身近で、優しい」デザインとして、改めて世に送り出したい。ORISMが仕掛ける、これまで誰も体験したことがない博多織の新しいアプローチ。コンセプトは「伝統は、さりげなくも、堂々」それが、HAKATA STRIPES ＋ ORISMです。

博多織ワッペン・ピスネームについて

ORISMが使用する博多織生地は、博多織工業組合加盟の歴史ある織元が最上級の絹糸を用いて製造しています。これを特別に加工して製作したORISMオリジナルの「ワッペン」・「刺繍ワッペン」・「ピスネーム」（二つ折りのタグ）は、ギャランティーとしての役割を果たすとともに、ブランドフィロソフィー、コンセプト、そして福岡発ブランドとしてのプライドを象徴するものとしてアパレル製品を中心に取り付けられています。

博多織を感じるにはあまりに小さい？

私たちの狙いはそこにあります。私たちは気づいたのです。小さくとも放たれる輝き。一見して目に入らずとも、持つ人に「確かなものを得た悦び」を与えてくれる存在感。これこそが、途絶えることなく連綿と受け継がれてきた伝統の持つ重みなのだということに。

きっと、皆様にもご理解いただけるものと。
